The Shroud of Turin

The shroud of Turin is a linen cloth bercapkan kind face of a man who apparently died of crucifixion . Christians believe in the world as the burial shroud of Jesus Christ . Currently shroud is kept in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Turin , Italy .

Despite many scientific investigations are carried out to reveal it , but up until now no one has been able to explain how it could be a face image on the shroud . Radiocarbon test called the shroud came from medieval times , but it is doubtful radiocarbon test results .

Before the Middle Ages , there were reports that the shroud is the image of Edessa - report that at least since the 4th century . There was also another cloth ( the Sudarium ) known even from biblical times ( John 20:7 ) , that the cloth used to cover the head of Christ when buried .
A 1999 study by Mark Guscin , a member of the multidisciplinary investigation team of the Centre Sindonology Spain , investigated the relationship between the two cloths . Based on history , forensic pathology , blood chemistry ( the Sudarium also is reported type AB blood stains ) , and stain patterns , he concluded that the two cloths covered the same head used in two adjacent time .
Avinoam Hector ( a researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem ) concurred with this analysis , adding that the pollen grains in the Sudarium match the shroud .
However all the results of this study can not reveal the full extent of the shroud and face in it .
